Meet the people dedicated to ensuring your experience at The Cedar Saloon lives up to its name. We work day and night in order to ensure the smooth operation of the bar.
MARK T. ALLEMENT
Cow Farmer by Day/Saloon Operator by Night
Mark T. Allement, a descendant of Morganza natives, is the owner/operator of The Cedar Saloon . He began a renovation of the building in the Fall of 2019 with plans to re-open the historical dance hall in January 2020.
Mark grew up on a farm in Batchelor, and is living on the farm today. Because he spent a lot of his childhood in Morganza with his grandparents Amar & Anaise Allement, Morganza is a very special place to him. He feels honored to have the opportunity to fix up the historical dance hall.
Mark wants to help Morganza rebuild the town that was so special to him growing up. He wants children and future generations to have a place to come to enjoy themselves in Morganza.
Mark is also a musician that recorded an album in Nashville in 1993. He hopes to see friends, families, happy faces, entertainment, some of the finest music (country, cajun, jitterbug and old time rock and roll) being played at the saloon. He wants the place to remind people of a simpler time. The place will also have a gaming room for people to enjoy video poker, darts, pool and other games. Bingo, free food giveaways, and cajun days are all things Mark hopes to regularly have at the saloon.
Shane Shows has been friends with Mark T. Allement since grade school. Shane currently lives in Lakeland and was in the industrial business for 30+ years. Mark feels that Shane is the perfect person to run his saloon and make sure customers have a great experience each time they come. Many locals know Shane's late grandfather, Elton Gauthier, who ran the local drive in "Dairy Joy" that everyone loved.
